Hi, I’m Martina – the proud owner of Tama Swim, your destination for sustainable, high-end swimwear designed to make you feel amazing.

From Florence to Tamarama

My journey to founding Tama Swim didn’t happen overnight. I moved to Australia from Italy 14 years ago after studying fashion in Florence and working as a pattern maker for several Italian fashion designers. When I arrived in Sydney, I deepened my knowledge by studying Fashion Technology, specialising in lingerie design.

A Passion for Sustainable Design

As part of my studies, I became fascinated by lingerie and swimwear construction, teaching myself techniques beyond what the course offered. Even before graduating, I began researching sustainable fabrics for a future swimwear brand—something timeless, purposeful, and beautifully made.

That’s when I discovered ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon made from ocean and landfill waste. This innovative Italian fibre, used in VITA fabric, aligned perfectly with my vision for eco-friendly swimwear that empowers women and respects the planet.

The Birth of Tama Swim

While designing my first range, I met Allie, the original founder of Tama Swim, who was ready to pass the label to someone who shared her values. From our very first conversation, it was clear we were aligned: we both wanted to create sustainable swimwear that transcends trends, supports local production, and celebrates real people.

With Allie’s trust and encouragement, I took over Tama Swim, a defining and proud moment in my career.

Our Purpose

Today, I pour my passion and experience into crafting minimal, conscious swimwear inspired by Tamarama Beach and made to last. Our pieces are more than beautiful—they’re ethical, high-quality, and made with care for you and the environment.
